Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
On the night of November 24-25, the Araria police arrested two individuals, Jitendra Rathi and Rakesh Kumar Sah, following a tip-off about their involvement in a potential criminal act. The two were apprehended with two country-made pistols, four live cartridges, an e-rickshaw, and a mobile phone. The operation was carried out based on intelligence received about their movement towards Araria with illegal weapons.
The police action was led by SDPO Rampukar Singh, with a joint team from the Bousi police station and DIU Araria. The team set up vehicle checks at Vinodpur Mor in the Bousi police station area, where the two suspects were arrested. The firearms and ammunition were seized during the operation.
Jitendra Rathi, a resident of the Bousi police station area, has a criminal history, with multiple previous charges including involvement in incidents of looting and murder. Rakesh Kumar Sah, a resident of the Palasi police station area, is also reportedly associated with criminal activities. Both individuals were traveling together at the time of their arrest.
After the arrests, a case was filed at the Bousi police station, and both suspects were taken for interrogation. Following this, Jitendra Rathi and Rakesh Kumar Sah were sent to judicial custody. Investigations into their involvement in other criminal activities are ongoing, and further details regarding their backgrounds are being reviewed.
